NSIC S&D Day Four: Dragons Finish in Sixth Place

WEST FARGO, N.D. – MSU Moorhead closed out the 2025 NSIC Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday evening. 
 
At the conclusion of the meet, MSUM finished in sixth place as a team with 327 points. 
 
The Dragons would begin the day in the 100-yard IM as Ruth Pavelski would qualify for the B-final. Pavelski clocked a 1:01.79, a season best. Linnea Edgren marked a 1:05.73 while Iris Diaz set a new personal best of 1:06.53 in the same event. Edgren would also swim a 2:43.26 in the preliminary heats of the 200-yard breaststroke. Pavelski would place seventh in the B-final later in the evening with a time of 1:01.91. 
 
Rose Urick would continue her strong week, earning a spot in the B-final of the 200-yard breaststroke. The freshman would finish the preliminary with a personal best time of 2:26.3, which stands as the eighth-fastest time in program history. Urick would earn a fourth-place finish in the B-final with a time of 2:26.33. 
 
In the 100-yard freestyle, Maggie Moore would lead the Dragons with a 54.01 finishing time. Taylor Cook (56.21) and Lily Lengerich (56.48) would set season best times in the same event. The 200-yard backstroke would see both Kelsey Jackson (2:13.70) and Lacie Stark (2:14.32) earn solid times with Stark's being a season best mark. 
 
To wrap the morning, Cami Mayo would clock an 18:06.28 in the 1650-yard freestyle timed finals. Mayo placed second overall in the morning heats and improved upon her seed time by nearly 16 seconds. After the final heat in the evening session, Mayo would finish ninth overall. 
 
3-meter diving preliminaries would begin the afternoon as Isabelle Johnson would lead the Dragons, placing 10th with a score of 350.10. Ruth Guy would earn a 12th-place finish with a mark of 332.05. Zoe Bjerke landed in 14th place with a score of 319.45. 
 
To button up the meet, MSUM's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Sophia Verke, Fernanda Leon, Demi-Lee Carlisle and Maggie Moore would place seventh in the A-final with a time of 3:33.32. In the B-final, the Dragon squad of Joanna Phillips, Taylor Cook, Lily Lengerich and Pavelski would earn sixth-place marks with a time of 3:41.23.
