MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead women's basketball will wrap up the 2024-25 regular season this weekend in home tilts with Winona State and Minnesota State. The Dragons will take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday before battling the Mavericks on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Live video and stats will be available at msumdragons.com. Steve d'Eustachio and Jared Bledsoe will have the call on the Dragon Digital Network. Fans can listen to both games on AM 1100/FM 92.3 with Jace Denman and 'Big Game' James McCarty on the call.
Matchup History...The Dragons hold the most recent victory in the series against the Warriors, topping Winona State on January 18 (69-47). Overall, MSUM has won four straight over the Warriors and eight of the last 11 games. Minnesota State enters Saturday's game with a five-game winning streak over the Dragons. The Mavericks defeated MSUM back on January 17, 94-66. Minnesota State has won six of the last 10 meetings overall in the series. The last time MSUM defeated Minnesota State was on January 31, 2020 by a 66-63 score.
Last Time Out...MSUM saw their three-game winning streak come to an end on Friday against Minnesota Duluth. The Bulldogs used a basket with less than 15 seconds to play to defeat the Dragons, 63-61.
Ashton Safranski scored 22 points and had six steals for MSUM while
Natalie Jens scored 18 points. On Saturday against 12th-ranked Concordia, St. Paul, MSUM led for a majority of the tilt. However, a tough final frame from MSUM allowed CSP to win, 62-53.
Out Here Ballin'...Freshman point guard
Ashton Safranski brought the Dragons back from a double digit deficit on Friday against Minnesota Duluth. Safranski scored 18 of her 22 points in the second half of the game, finishing the contest shooting seven of 13 from the floor. In addition to her career high in points, Safranski also nabbed six steals against the Bulldogs. The Fargo, N.D., native is tied atop the NSIC with 71 steals, including 63 in league play, an NSIC-best.
Seniors To Be Honored...Saturday's game against Minnesota State will see MSUM's three seniors honored during halftime of the men's contest.

DJ Davis and
Tori Ratz will be celebrated for their dedication to Dragon basketball. Davis came to Moorhead from NCAA Division I North Dakota and was named to the WBCA's 'So You Want to Be a Coach' class of 2025. Ratz will be long-remembered for her three-point shooting ability, holding a lifetime clip of 41 percent from distance. Jens has been one of the most reliable guards in recent memory for the Dragons. The Beaver Dam, Wis., native had scored 1,269 career points heading into the weekend as well as 316 assists and 126 steals.
Two Of A Kind...Sophomores
Karlee Fisher and
Ashley Fritz combined to score 20 points for the Dragons against 12th-ranked Concordia, St. Paul on Saturday. Fisher was efficient from the field, making three of four long range shots for 11 points. Fritz also buried a triple and finished with nine points.
Converting At A High Rate...Junior forward
Terryn Johnson has proven to be one of the most efficient players in the NSIC this season. Johnson bolsters a 55 percent success rate (115-209) from the floor this season. In NSIC games alone, Johnson has made 56 percent of her attempts (91-163). The junior is also third in the league in rebounding average (8.7)
Quick Scout...The Warriors enter Friday having lost four of their last five games, but snapped a four-game skid to Minot State in their most recent game. Olivia Gamoke will pace the Warriors, averaging a team-best 13 points per game. The ever-potent Mavericks will utilize their fullcourt press in abundance on Saturday as MSU averages 27 forced turnovers a game for a plus-10 margin. Junior Natalie Bremer scores a team-best 19.9 points per game.
