MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead women's basketball dropped a home NSIC contest on Friday evening to Winona State. The visiting Warriors bested the Dragons, 58-48.

- MSUM would hold a small lead to begin the contest as Abby Berge and Terryn Johnson paced the Dragon offense early.
- Ashton Safranski would score late in the period, but Winona State would retain a four-point lead after 10 minutes, 17-13.
- The Dragons would tie the game early in the second quarter before grabbing a six-point lead after six points from Natalie Jens and a nice finish from Ayelishka Teko-Folly.
- Before the end of the half, the Warriors would connect on some difficult attempts, eventually leading by seven points at the break, 34-27.
- MSUM would continue to struggle on offense into the second half as Winona State would lead by as many as 13 points midway through the third period.
- Winona State would lead by ten points heading into the final quarter.
- Berge would try and spark a Dragon comeback in the fourth, scoring twice to pull MSUM to within six points with just over five minutes to play.
- That is as close as the Dragons would get as the Warriors would claim the victory, 58-48.
- MSUM shot 33.3 percent in the second half and were just one of eight from beyond the arc in the final two quarters.
