MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead women's basketball continues play in the NSIC Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon. The Dragons take on second-seeded Southwest Minnesota State at 1:30 p.m. from the Sanford Pentagon.

Matchup History...The Mustangs claimed the lone regular season matchup between the two schools back on January 10 (93-70). The Dragons have only defeated the Mustangs once in the last six meetings between the two programs. However, MSUM held a nine-game winning streak over SMSU from January 2013 until February 2020.
Last Time Out...The Dragons collected an NSIC Tournament win on Wednesday night after defeating Wayne State College, 57-50. Freshman
Ashton Safranski was pivotal for the Dragons and once against stuffed the stat book. Safranski scored a game-high 17 points to go along with nine rebounds, eight steals and five assists. MSUM led by as many as 21 points in the third quarter and outrebounded the Wildcats 44-32.Â
Dragons On All-NSIC....Senior guard

Terryn Johnson were named to the All-NSIC teams on Thursday. Jens made her second appearance on the All-NSIC First Team after averaging a team-best 12.5 points per game this season. Johnson collected her second All-NSIC Second Team honor after leading the Dragons in rebounding and notching 11 double-doubles during the season.
Big Berge Business...Sophomore
Abby Berge was sensational all weekend for the Dragons. Berge scored 15 points against Winona State on Friday before pouring in 17 points with eight rebounds against Minnesota State. The Sunburg, Minn., native shot 57.1 percent from the field across both games while burying all seven of her foul shot attempts. Berge scored 10 points in MSUM's win over Wayne State in the NSIC First Round on Wednesday.Â
That's Super Jens' Music...Senior guard
Natalie Jens was superb against Minnesota State on Saturday. Jens scored a game-high 22 points, which was also a season-best effort for the senior. The Beaver Dam, Wis., also had five rebounds and a pair of assists in the Dragon victory. Jens was effective from the floor as well, marking a 43.7 percent clip from the field and 50 percent from long range. Jens dropped in 10 points for MSUM against Wayne State on Wednesday.Â

Ashton Safranski finished the regular season with 75 steals, which was tied for the NSIC lead for the year. However, Safranski led the league in steals in conference games, nabbing 67 of her 75 steals in NSIC contests. At the conclusion of the regular season, Safranski is tied for 15th in the nation in total steals. Safranski had a career-high eight steals in the NSIC First Round against Wayne State on Wednesday.Â
Tried and True Terry...Junior post
Terryn Johnson set a new career high for rebounds this past weekend, capping the regular season with 245 boards. The mark was the third-highest total in the NSIC this season while Johnson's rebounding average (8.8) was also third-best in the conference. Johnson also set a career-best in field goal percentage, marking a 55.4 percent clip during the regular season. Johnson hauled in eight rebounds against Wayne State in the NSIC First Round on Wednesday.Â
Coach Rewrites History...Head coach
Karla Nelson will stroll the sidelines for the 44th time in the NSIC Tournament on Saturday. Nelson holds the NSIC record for NSIC Tournament games coached after surpassing Northern State's Curt Fredrickson last season against Winona State. Coach Nelson's teams have never missed the NSIC Tournament in her tenure.
