MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead women's basketball is set for a pair of critical NSIC battles this week. The Dragons head to Minot State for a Wednesday night game at 7:30 p.m. before hosting UMary on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Matchup History...Minot State defeated MSUM earlier this season in a 65-62 overtime decision. In total, the Dragons have won 21 of the last 27 meetings against the Beavers. MSUM has won four of the last five meetings with the Beavers inside the MSU Dome as well. The Dragons defeated Mary in their first meeting this season, 65-43. However, the teams have been relatively even over the last six seasons. The teams have split the last 12 total matchups between them dating back to the 2018-19 season.
Last Time Out...MSUM earned a split out of last week's contests in NSIC play. The Dragons fell to Northern State on Thursday, 69-60, after struggling to score in the fourth period. MSUM would rally on Saturday, however, defeating St. Cloud State in overtime, 78-66. The Dragons closed the overtime period on a 16-0 run and held the Huskies scoreless for nearly four minutes.
Natalie Jens led the Dragons in the victory with 20 points.
Berge In Rhythm...Sophomore
Abby Berge turned in another stellar week of performances for the Dragons. Berge scored a team-best 20 points on 50 percent shooting against Northern State on Thursday. The Sunburg, Minn., native also had eight rebounds and three steals in the game. Against the Huskies, Berge scored 16 points with seven rebounds and another three steals. Berge shot 60 percent from the floor against the Huskies, including four made foul shots. Berge was named to the NSIC's 'Shining Five' for her efforts last week.
Terry Time...Junior
Terryn Johnson extended her double-double streak to four games after picking up a pair last week. Johnson logged 15 points with 10 rebounds against Northern State on Thursday before scoring 12 points with 12 boards against SCSU. For the week, Johnson converted on 59 percent of her shot attempts (13-22). The Kindred, N.D., native also had a pair of blocked shots in the two games.
#SafranskiSteals...Freshman point guard
Ashton Safranski continued to rise up the NCAA leaderboard in steals. Safranski collected another eight takeaways this past week, averaging four steals a contest. That moves Safranski's total to 58 steals, which is tied for 21st in the nation. Safranski is second in the NSIC to MSU's Natalie Bremer (59) in total steals.
Jens Eclipses 300....Senior guard
Natalie Jens dished out her 300th career assist on Thursday against Northern State. Jens is only the 10th player in program history to eclipse 300 career assists. The senior also continues to move up the program's all-time scoring list behind 1,216 career points. The mark is 16th in program history as Jens sits 13 points away from passing MSUM great Megan Strese on the all-time list.
Overtime Lockdown...After falling down by four points early in overtime on Saturday, MSUM responded. The Dragons closed the game on a 16-0 run, holding the Huskies scoreless for nearly four minutes. The Dragons hold the NSIC's fourth-best defense, limiting teams to 65 points per game.
Quick Scout...The Dragons will look to take away Minot State's Sydney Gustavsson, who scored 18 points in the first meeting. Mary is led by guard Bergan Kinnebrew, who averages 14.4 points per game.
