MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead volleyball will return to the friendly confines of Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse this weekend for a trio of NSIC matches. The Dragons will take on Augustana on Friday at 6 p.m. before capping the weekend against 17th-ranked Wayne State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Moorhead will complete the homestand on Tuesday in a 6 p.m. match with Minnesota Crookston.

The Dragons began the tournament with a swift, three-set victory over William Jewell.
Jocelin Feutz led MSUM with nine kills as the Dragons held the Cardinals to less than 16 points in all three sets. On the match as a whole, MSUM hit for an impressive .483 clip compared to William Jewells' .056 mark. In game two of the day, MSUM fell in three sets to 12th-ranked Washburn. While the Dragons were swept, each of the three sets were determined by four or less points.
Raiah Mandell had 10 kills in the match for MSUM.
To conclude the weekend, Moorhead dropped a hard, five-set bout with Emporia State. Mandell was again the top attacker for MSUM, logging 18 kills while setter
Madi Colby matched her career high of 30 assists. In their final match of the weekend, MSUM looked sharp in a three-set victory over Truman State as Feutz tallied 10 kills with Colby dishing out 21 assists. Mandell and Feutz were named to the All-Tournament Team for their efforts over the weekend.
Mandell leads the Dragons with 94 total kills followed closely by
Brielle Riess with 82. Riess also leads the Dragons with an impressive 18 service aces already this season. Feutz and
Mya Pfeifer have been Moorhead's top blocker so far in 2025, logging 16 blocks each. Both
Ruby Bones and
Leah Laqua have also been strong on defense, totaling 26 blocks between them. Junior
Maci Martini holds the team lead in digs with 109 with Riess not far behind with 103. Colby leads the squad with 179 assists while
Amanda Lisi has added 132.
Kari Thompson is in her third season as MSUM's head volleyball coach.
