BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead senior linebacker
Mitchell Jezierski has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning. The honor comes following a career effort from Jezierski against Northern Michigan last Thursday.

- Recorded a career-high and NSIC-best 18 tackles in MSUM's 44-37 win at Northern Michigan
- Had 12 solo takedowns in the performance
- His 18 tackles are the most by a Dragon in a single game since 2011.
- Added in two tackles for loss, including one sack for a total of nine lost yards
- Credited with two forced fumbles in the victory, both recovered by the Dragons
MSUM is back on the road this week for the NSIC opener against Southwest Minnesota State. Kickoff from Marshall, Minn., is slated for 5 p.m.
