CSC Academic All-District Football 2026

Eight Dragons Tabbed as CSC Academic All-District Honorees

AUSTIN, Texas – College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its Academic All-District® Team for football. Minnesota State Moorhead was represented by eight student-athletes on this year's team. Devin Beach, Tate Gustafson, Mitchell Jezierski, Brooks O'Brien, Tyson Brandt, Manny Wilson, Jack Strand and Gage Florence all earned the honor for Moorhead. 
 
Beach holds a 3.87 cumulative GPA as an exercise science major at MSUM while Brandt bolsters a 3.95 GPA as a business administration major. Florence holds a 3.65 GPA in his exercise science degree with Gustafson showcasing an impressive 3.84 as an engineering physics major. Jezierski, also an exercise science major, holds a 3.94 cumulative GPA in his academic career. O'Brien offers up a 3.88 GPA as a construction management major with Strand holding a 3.87 GPA in his engineering physics degree. Wilson holds a perfect 4.0 GPA as a political science major at MSUM. 
 
For Gustafson, Jezierski, O'Brien and Strand, it is their third trip to a CSC Academic All-District® Team. Beach is now a two-time member while Florence, Brandt and Wilson make their first career appearances on the prestigious list. 
 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. 
 
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 27, 2026. Strand and Florence will be included on the national ballot. 

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.

It is incumbent upon CSC members to nominate the most outstanding student-athletes at their institution based on the criteria below.
 
Academic standing:
 
  • Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
  • Nominee must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination as either an undergraduate or graduate student. Only the school at which an athlete competed in the current academic year can nominate that player.
  • Student-athletes who have graduated from their own institution during the current academic year and are not competing in athletics at another institution at the time of nomination are eligible.
 
Academic eligibility:
 
  • An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
  • A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
  • The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
 
Athletic eligibility: Sport-specific nomination criteria'
 
Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
