MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead women's basketball is set for a pair of tough road contests in NSIC play this weekend. The Dragons will look to increase their winning streak to five games in matchups against Concordia-St. Paul on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Winona State on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Matchup History...The Dragons enter Friday in hopes of eliminating a four-game losing streak to the Golden Bears. In total, CSP has claimed five of the last six against the Dragons. The last time Moorhead defeated the Golden Bears was on January 20, 2023, in a 73-65 victory. Prior to the last six contests, MSUM had defeated CSP in seven straight meetings. The Golden Bears hold the all-time advantage over the Dragons, having won 27 games to MSUM's 20. The teams first played during the 1976-77 season. Winona State holds the most recent victory in the series with the Dragons, defeating Moorhead 58-48 on February 21, 2025. Prior to that result, MSUM had won four straight against the Warriors. Moorhead owns the all-time record in the long-standing series, winning 54 games to Winona State's 31 dating back to 1972-73.
Terry Watch...The countdown is on for senior post Terryn Johnson, who scored 18 points against Minnesota Crookston on Saturday. The effort puts Johnson over 900 career points with her number currently standing at 907. Johnson also pulled down 10 rebounds in the win over the Golden Eagles, moving her career rebound total to 680. The Kindred, N.D, native also secured her 23rd career double-double in the victory.
Bob And Weave...True freshman point guard Aubrey Morrison was critical in Moorhead's victory over Minnesota Crookston on Saturday. The Walker, Minn., native scored a collegiate-best 19 points on 50 percent shooting, including four made three-pointers. Morrison picked up her offense in the second period as the Dragons were in foul trouble. The freshman was also pivotal on defense, leading the effort on UMC star Emma Miller, who scored 17 points on 36.3 percent shooting (0-7 from three).
Cay Continues To Play...Sophomore Caylin Kelly had another strong outing against Minnesota Crookston on Saturday. The Clark, S.D., native notched 10 points and six rebounds on 57.1 percent shooting from the floor. Over the last six games, Kelly has scored in double figures four times. In the last four games for MSUM, Kelly is averaging 10.7 points and 5.5 rebounds behind a 47.2 percent shooting clip.
Berge Back In Business...Junior forward Abby Berge made her return to the floor on Saturday against Minnesota Crookston. The Sunburg, Minn., native was able to convert on a free throw and snare a rebound in 11 minutes of action. Berge had not played since November 18, but was averaging 8.5 points per game for the Dragons prior to injury.
Patrolling The Perimeter...Moorhead allowed just 43 points to Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, a new season low. It is the third time this season that the Dragons have held an opponent to 50 or fewer points. MSUM holds the NSIC's second-best scoring defense, limiting opponents to 63.8 points per game. The Dragons also have the league's third-lowest opponent field goal percentage, holding teams to 39.1 percent shooting on the year. On Saturday, MSUM held the Golden Eagles to just 31 percent shooting for the game.
