Abby Berge to push by visiting Minot State on Saturday evening. The Dragons bested the Beavers, 76-67.
How It Happened
- Both teams would trade baskets throughout the first quarter with the teams tied at 13 points after a three-pointer from Aubrey Morrison.
- Eight points from Abby Berge led the Dragons in the frame, but Minot State held a 22-19 advantage through 10 minutes of action.
- Berge would continue to be aggressive into the second quarter, but Minot State would hold a lead of five points early in the frame.
- Another three from Morrison would spark the Dragons, who came back within a point after a score from Karlee Fisher.
- Late in the half, Moorhead would even the count at 37 points with the teams entering the locker room gridlocked.
- Berge was exceptional through 20 minutes, scoring 18 points with nine rebounds.
- A mixture of Berge and Terryn Johnson would get the Dragons moving in the second half with MSUM regaining the lead, 47-42.
- Morrison would hit another timely three-pointer, followed by a basket from Grace Massaquoi, and MSUM's lead had reached nine points.
- After three quarters of action, Moorhead led 57-49 behind 23 points from Berge.
- MSUM's lead would hit 10 points early in the fourth quarter before Minot State began stir once more.
- However, it was Berge who provided the timely shot, netting a three to put MSUM back up by 11 points.
- The Beavers would only come as close as six points down the stretch as the Dragons would force timely turnovers on defense, while converting at the foul line on offense.
- Moorhead would win the game 76-67 behind a career-high 28 points from Berge, who also snared 14 rebounds (also a career-high).
- Berge shot eight of nine from the field while connecting on all 10 of her attempts from the foul line.
- Morrison and Safranski would add 11 points each with Safranski dishing out eight assists.
