MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead volleyball begins its home slate this weekend in NSIC matches. The Dragons battle Minot State on Friday at 6 p.m. before hosting UMary on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match.

Live video and stats will be available at msumdragons.com. Midco Sports Plus will be the official streaming home of MSUM athletics. Moorhead dropped its first two conference matches a week ago against Jamestown (3-1) and Northern State (3-0).

Matchup History...The Dragons enter Friday's match with the Beavers riding an eight-game winning streak dating back to September 2021. Minot State last defeated Moorhead on November 2, 2019. However, since the 2012 season, Moorhead is 16-2 versus the Beavers. The Dragons have also had similar success against UMary, including the most recent series victory on October 11, 2025. While the Marauders defeated the Dragons during the 2024 season, MSUM holds a 17-3 record against UMary since the 2009 season.

Colby's Grand...Senior setter Madi Colby amassed 1,000 career assists during MSUM's non-conference surge. Colby enters this weekend having dished out 1037 career assists in her MSUM career, including a team-high 205 in 2026. Currently, Colby sits just outside the top ten all-time in program history for assists, needing 33 assists to surpass Emily Skalicy (2022-2025) for 10th all-time.

Turn It Away...Junior middle blocker Leah Laqua stacked up four more blocks across two matches for MSUM last weekend. Laqua currently leads the Dragons with 41 total blocks this season, including 33 block assists. The Fargo, N.D., overall block total ranks second in the Northern Sun this season with her 33 block assists ranking third in the league.

Double-Double Machine...Senior Maci Martini continues to make double-doubles look easy for Moorhead. Martini enters the weekend having logged five double-doubles in her last six matches. This included back-to-back stat stuffers against Jamestown and Northern State. Martini spiked 10 kills with 18 digs on Friday versus the Jimmies. The Pequot Lakes, Minn., native stamped 14 kills with 15 digs against Northern State on Saturday. In her career, Martini has tallied 14 double-doubles.

All Eyes On Raiah...Senior Raiah Mandell is pacing the MSUM offense so far this season, having spiked a team-high 117 kills so far. Mandell has done this while improving her efficiency as she currently holds a .305 hitting percentage. In her career, Mandell has only improved on her hitting clip and efficiency each season. As a freshman in 2023, Mandell hit for an 0.88 clip before improving that to .159 as a sophomore.
