Three local businesses are involved in “Go Pink with the Dragons.” “We are excited to partner with Personal Touch, Extreme Pita and Gary Tharaldson’s Enterprises because it allows our community to become more involved,” said Gloria Riopelle, MSUM event organizer and breast cancer survivor. “This event is about teaching women the importance of self-exams and early detection. At the same time, we are raising money to fund clinical trials at the local level which is vital to cancer research.”
“Go Pink with the Dragons t-shirts are NOW available to purchase for $10 per shirt,” said Cheri Johnson, Owner of Personal Touch Embroidery. “I am honored to design and provide the “Go Pink” t-shirt to raise money for Roger Maris Cancer Center. Every person that buys a shirt, either for themselves or someone they love, wears it because they believe in a cause bigger than themselves. We hope to see the “Go Pink” t-shirts all over town and at the game.” T-shirts are available for purchase on-line, the MSUM Athletic department, and the MSUM Bookstore. A limited amount of shirts will also be sold at the Student Union during the week of 2/16-2/21/09 and at the 2/21/09 basketball game.

Perhaps they are mothers, sisters, daughters, friends or neighbors whose gifts of time have in turn made us better people” said owner Troy Thomson. “At Extreme Pita, we know the importance of taking care of each other and making time for what matters most. Each year Extreme Pita wants to celebrate with the women in our lives by encouraging them to get regular exams to detect breast cancer.”
