Welcome to MSUM Home of the Dragons!
Fargo-Moorhead has been hungry for D-I Hockey for the last 40 years. With the realignment of conferences, the recent addition of Scheel’s Arena to our community, and a University that is serious about the addition of hockey; we believe the best chance to bring NCAA D-I Hockey to our community is NOW! As a result MSUM is leading the charge to bring NCAA D-I Men’s and Women’s Hockey to our regional community.
It’s a big, bold idea built on a conservative and realistic business plan that is sustainable for years to come. The budget was developed to fully scholarship both men’s and women’s ice hockey teams and provide coaching salaries that will ensure we can assemble the best coaching staff possible. The vision is to start strong and field teams that our community can be proud of on the ice, in the classroom, and in our community.
NCAA D-I Hockey in Fargo-Moorhead would provide:
· Estimated annual economic impact of $12M-$14M
· Additional opportunities for the growth of youth hockey
· Increase the usage and traffic in Scheel’s Arena
· Positive Impact on Minnesota State University Moorhead
