MSU Moorhead Athletics

Before MSUM: Spent the 2024-25 season as a member of NCAA Division II Washburn's roster....while with the 'Bods, competed in seven total meets, setting an 8k best of 26:01.5 at the MIAA Cross Country Championships...had a season-best 800m time of 1:58.07 at the Washburn Rust Buster...prior to running with the Ichabods, spent two seasons at Iowa Central Community College...earned All-American honors in both track and field and cross country as a sophomore...placed 80th at the NJCAA National Cross Country Championships, 11th at the regional championships, and 21st at the NJCAA Half Marathon Championships...on the track, finished 19th in the 800m at the indoor national championships and contributed to a third-place finish in the 4x800m relay...as a freshman, also received All-American recognition in both sports, helping lead his team to a runner-up finish at the NJCAA Cross Country National Championships.

Prep: Competed in cross country and track & field at Saitama Sakae High School in Saitama, Japan...won the south regional 1500m race 

Personal: Son of Nana Asahi and Alpha Gene Wright Jr. Majoring in exercise science.
