Biography

2014: Appeared in all 11 games at safety and cornerback with three starts...had 33 tackles, including 13 solo stops...also had three pass breakups on the season...had a career-high eight tackles against nationally-ranked Minnesota State (9/13/14).

2013: Appeared in 11 games, starting nine at safety position...finished with 34 tackles (15 solos, 19 assists)...had career-high six tackles in win over Bemidji State (11/16/13)...had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two interceptions.

2012: Recorded five tackles, one solo and four assisted, in seven games played...provided depth in defensive backfield.

Prep: Two-time all-region selection in football...all-state honoree as well...part of back-to-back state championship teams at Fargo Shanley...coached by current Dragon mentor Steve Laqua at Shanley...four-year letterwinner in football, and also letterd in basketball, baseball and track.

Personal: Son of Randy and Dorian Nelson...undecided major...born Sept. 12, 1993.
