Joey Blackmore is in his first season as an assistant coach on the Minnesota State University Moorhead football coaching staff. Blackmore will coach the safeties.
A native of Avon, Minn., Blackmore spent the 2016 season as the defensive coordinator/secondary coach at the University of Jamestown. Prior to that, he was a defensive graduate assistant at North Dakota State coaching staff from 2014-16 and was a student assistant prior to that.
Blackmore played at NDSU from 2009-12 and was a part of two FCS National Championship teams.
Blackmore is a graduate of Albany (Minn.) High School. Blackmore earned his bachelor's degree in social science educaiton and physical education from North Dakota State in 2014 and earned his master's in leadership education in 2016 from NDSU.
