Biography

2014: Played in all 11 games at tight end and also contributed on special teams...finished season with three catches for 73 yards...had a key 46-yard reception in win over Bemidji State (11/8/14)...named to NSIC Fall All-Academic Team for second consecutive year.

2013: Started season at linebacker before moving to tight end spot...caught six passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns...had an 80-yard touchdown reception against St. Cloud State (11/16/13)...also rushed for 19 yards and two touchdowns...named to NSIC All-Academic Team for fall season.

2012: Played at quarterback early in season and also saw time at wide receiver...rushed for 140 yards on 60 attempts, totaling a 2.3 average per rush and 15.6 per game…recorded one rushing touchdown with a season-long rush of 38 yards…completed 15 of 37 passes for 176 yards while beginning the season as the starting quarterback…recorded four catches for 34 yards, averaging 8.5 per catch.

2011: Redshirt year.

Prep: AA North Dakota Senior Athlete of the Year at Shanley High School…played for football head coach Steve Laqua…eight-time letter award winner in football, basketball, and baseball…honored twice on football All-Eastern Dakota Conference and North Dakota All-State teams…served as football and basketball captain.

Personal: Son of Mike and Mary Montplaisir…born March 22, 1993…undecided major…honor roll student…member of student council and school newspaper…father, Mike, played golf for MSUM for two seasons...brother Chase is a quarterback on the Dragon roster.
