Jack Thompson joined the Dragon coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the 2024-2025 season and will move into an assistant coaching role in 2025-26. Thompson came to the Dragons with a vast knowledge of the NSIC after completing his playing career at the University of Sioux Falls.

As a player, Thompson was a two-time NSIC All-Conference performer during his time at USF. Throughout his career he scored over 1,400 points, had over 300 assists, 350 rebounds, and 125 steals while making 86 starts for the Cougars. Jack was a two-time NSIC South Division Champion (2019-20 & 2022-23), as well as a three-time team captain.

On top of his outstanding playing career, Jack has also been a part of the Sanford Sports Basketball Academy, acting as a trainer and coach for the past two years. Thompson has focused on skill development for all ages of athletes along with coaching his own AAU teams.

Jack earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Sioux Falls. He is currently working towards earning his Master’s in Business Administration and plans to graduate with his MBA in May of 2025.
