Biography

2013: Appeared in seven games, starting four...had 10 strikeouts in 22.2 innings pitched...finished with two complete games.

2012: Appeared in 27 games as a sophomore for the Dragons…led the team in strikeouts with 41…lead the team in innings pitched with 104.0 and shared team lead with four wins...also had one shutout.

2011:  Appeared in 10 games with two starts last spring as a freshman, fashioned a 11.42 earned run average with a 0-2 record...Rookie pitching log included 10 strikeouts and 17 walks in 19 innings...Hit .143 with one base hit in seven at bats.

Prep: Graduate of Woodward-Granger High School…five-time letterwinner for softball…a three-time letterwinner for basketball…named team captain of softball team in junior and senior season…named MVP of North Des Moines tournament, first team All-Heart of Iowa Conference selection…All-Tournament team selection at Saydel High School tournament…All-Tournament team selection at Dallas Center Grimes tournament…Member of high school dance team…Member of 4-H and yearbook clubs.

Personal: Daughter of Jackie and Scott Smyth...elementary education major…coaches 8U softball team in the summer.
