Indoor: Competed in four meets during the season for MSUM, setting new personal bests in the 60m hurdles (9.67) and high jump (1.91m)....earned his high jump personal best at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships, finishing 12th overall...placed eighth in the high jump at the Bison Team Cup with a clearance of 6-02.75 (1.90m).
Outdoor: Competed in six meets for the Dragons across a variety of events...competed in high jump at the NSIC Outdoor Championships, placing ninth with a personal best clearance of 6-03.5 (1.92m)...won both the high jump (1.90m) and the 110m hurdles (17.53) at the Al Cassell Classic...had a top performance of 17.44 in the 110m hurdles during the season, which is also a personal best...notched personal bests in both the long jump (5.02m) and the shot put (9.29m) at the Al Bortke Open as well.

Before MSUM: Competed at Saint John's University where he collected a top high jump of 6-03.5...competed in six meets for the Johnnies...finished ninth in the high jump at the MIAC Championships.

Prep: Was a three-time all-conference honoree for Red Lake County Central High School...holds the school record in high jump with a personal best leap of 6-04...also competed in basketball and football where he was an all-conference performer in both...scored over 1,000 points in his basketball career at Red Lake County Central. 

Personal: Son of Kelly and Greg Melin. Majoring in elementary education.
