Dawson Sedivec

Dawson Sedivec is in his second season as an assistant coach at MSUM.

In his first year leading the Dragon throws group, Sedivec guided Moorhead to some incredible finishes. Sophomore Justin Jacobson narrowly missed qualification for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in both shot put and discus. Jacobson recorded a new MSUM school record in discus on April 16, besting a previous record that had stood since 2001. Jacobson and junior Kiley Kranz earned All-NSIC honors during the indoor season for the Dragons. True freshman Hailey Neumann was the NSIC's runner-up in javelin during the outdoor season. Several of the marks set in 2025-26 now reside in the MSUM top ten as well.

During the 2024-25 season, Sedivec served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Jamestown. His male athletes averaged 51 meters in the hammer throw last season with the women holding a 45 meter per throw average.

Sedivec enjoyed a standout career at the University of Jamestown where he was a four-time NAIA All-American. He is currently obtaining his doctorate of physical therapy.
