MOORHEAD, Minn. - Freshman Heidi Lensing led the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons to a 3-0 victory over St. Cloud State on Friday evening as she had a season-game high 14 kills. The scores of the games were 25-18, 25-22 and 25-15.

The Dragons now sit with a 3-1 record in the NSIC and boast a 13-4 overall tally. The Huskies move to 5-12 with a 1-4 NSIC record.

Lensing led the game off with a kill on a set to the outside by Leigh Splittstoesser, who led the team in assists with 41. Lensing continued with a hot hand as back-to-back-to-back kills from her, Kristen Kleven and Laura Tvrdik gave the home team the edge they needed in the first set to put the team ahead for good, 13-10. The Huskies did not give up as they came within one again at 14-15 but the Dragons had six more kills and two blocks to take the first set.

MSUM took the first point of the second set on another kill by Lensing but the momentum of the Dragons was held up as the Huskies took charge and were leading 13-10 half way through the set before Dragons' Head Coach Tammy Blake-Kath took her first timeout of the match.

Tvrdik completed two attacks in the next three points and was followed by a kill from the hands Splittstoesser. Kleven followed with two of her own and in the next three points of the set Lensing joined in with two more kills. This tied the game at 19, but the Huskies roared back taking the next three points.

Mary Sussenguth served the Dragons to the victory as she was aided by Tvrdik to tie the game at 22. After a Huskies error, Ashley Pyfferoen had a kill and assisted Kleven on a block to take the set 25-22.

After the short intermission, the Dragons took hold of the reigns of the match and rode the momentum to a victory, taking the third set 25-15. Lensing and Tvrdik each had five kills in the third set to lead the team.

Tvrdik and Kleven each ended the match with 9 kills. Kleven led the team with one solo block and aided on four of the team's seven assisted blocks in the match.
