Dragons Soccer Falls To Wolves

| By:
ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Dragons soccer team took to Aberdeen, S.D. in search of their first win. What the Dragons found was a familiar obstacle of unlucky bounces that resulted in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Northern State Wolves.

Freshman goalkeeper Carole Braschayko got her first start of the year for the Dragons. The Wolves greated her with four opening shots in the first 10 minutes but only one needed to be turned away and Braschayko was up to the task. The Dragons fought off the Wolves until Maggie Fedor notched her fifth goal of the season on an assist from Kendra Titze at the 34:44 mark of the match.

The Wolves wasted no time in the second half as Liz Royce tallied her third goal of the season only 1:27 into the second half. The goal put the Wolves up by a final of 2-0, a score that would end up being the final as the Dragons lost the opening game of a five-game road trip.

The Dragons fall to 0-9 on the season (0-5 NSIC) while the Wolves improve to 4-2-4 on the season (2-0-3 NSIC). The Dragons press on, as they will face the Mary Marauders tomorrow in Bismarck, N.D. at 1 p.m.
