MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons return home for the remainder of the season with a four game home stand starting Saturday with a matchup against the Wildcats of Wayne State (Neb.).
The Dragons (1-11-1, 1-7-1 NSIC) host the Wildcats (5-5-4, 1-4-4 NSIC) to kick off weekend while finishing with the Augustana (S.D.) Vikings on Sunday. The Wildcats have won only two of their last 10 matchups going 2-4-4 in that span.
The Wildcats sit two spots ahead of the Dragons in the current NSIC standings. Megan Diaz leads the Wildcats on offense with eight goals on the year. Defensively, the Wildcats will rely heavily on Emily Walker who tallies 73 saves to this point along with a pair of shutouts, none against NSIC opponents.
The Vikings (5-7-2, 4-4-1 NSIC) are in the playoff hunt and are sitting in sixth place in the NSIC. The Vikings have lost four of their last six games, including being shutout in three of those contests.
Their latest lost came at the hands of the Bemidji State Beavers in a 1-0 home loss. Katie Shandri leads the Vikings with four goals on the year.
The Dragons game with Wayne State (Neb.) is a noon start while Sundays contest against Augustana (S.D.) is scheduled for 1 p.m.
