MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons women's soccer team opened their final weekend at home with a matchup against top-seeded Winona State. The Warriors scored three times in the first half on their way to a 5-1 win.
Warriors' leading scorer, freshman Jennifer Deroo, netted a hat trick in the game and pushed her goal total for the season up to nine goals. Junior Sarah Colleran tallied the other two goals for the Warriors. Dragons forward
Jordyn Wallenborn got her second goal of the season, deflecting a shot from
Shiree Lindholm.
The Dragons could not overcome the deficit and fell by a final of 5-1. The Warriors improve to 13-3-1 on the year. The Dragons (1-14-1, 1-10-1 NSIC) will battle the Upper Iowa Peacocks tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Alex Nemzek Soccer Field.
