MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead soccer embarks on another NSIC road trip this weekend. The Dragons travel to take on third-ranked Minnesota State on Friday at 3 p.m. before concluding the weekend against St. Cloud State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Live video and stats will be available at msumdragons.com. Moorhead is coming off a split week of results, topping Minnesota Duluth (1-0) before falling to Bemidji State (3-0) on the road.Â
Matchup History...The Mavericks have won the last two meetings with the Dragons. However, Moorhead defeated Minnesota State at home on October 22, 2023, in a 2-1 result. The Huskies have commanded much of the recent series with the Dragons, having won 22 of the last 23 matches dating back to the 2004 season. The Dragons earned a double overtime draw with St. Cloud State on October 31, 2021.Â
Checking That Box...Moorhead collected a historic victory over the Bulldogs last Friday. Prior to Friday, MSUM had not defeated the Bulldogs in competition since September 17, 2011. The only non-loss in that period was a 1-1 double overtime draw on October 13, 2019.Â
Something About Mary...Junior midfielder
Mary Cox scored again in MSUM's 1-0 victory over Minnesota Duluth last Friday. After the ball ping-ponged around, an errant header from the Bulldogs had the ball landing in front of Cox. The junior would wind up and fire off a speedy ball that proved to have too much pace for Bulldog keeper Edy Halverson. Cox's shot landed in the top corner of the net, offering up a 1-0 MSUM lead nine minutes into the game. The Evergreen, Colo., native's score was her third of the season as she currently leads MSUM with seven points.Â
Kristensen Dials In...Sophomore goalkeeper
Emilia Bukholt Kristensen earned her third clean sheet of the 2026 season on Friday against Minnesota Duluth. Kristensen made 10 total saves in the match, including a pair of acrobatic stops. So far this season, Kristensen had made 87 saves behind a .798 goals against average.Â
Tick Tick Tick...Fifth-year
 Lizzy Jaraczeski as well asÂ
Lily Allen and Madison Sharp logged full 90 efforts in at least one match for the Dragons last week. Allen is second on the team (non-goalkeeper) with 1,061 minutes played so far this season. Jaraczeski is not far behind, having logged 1,014 minutes so far this season. Cox currently leads MSUM in minutes player, tallying 1,132.Â
