MOORHEAD, Minn. - The MInnesota State University Moorhead Dragon men and women's basketball teams will open conference play Friday night as they will travel to Bemidji, Minn., to face the Bemidji State Beavers. The women's team will play at 6 p.m., while tip-off for the men is scheduled at 8 p.m.
On Saturday, the Dragons will travel to Duluth to face the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, with games beginning at 6 and 8 p.m.

DRAGON WOMEN UPDATE
The Dragons opened up the 2010-11 season with a 2-1 overall record. Most recently, the team dominated Mayville State, 98-72. In the game, junior forward
Angie Jetvig scored a career high 25 points and also grabbed a career high 16 rebounds and was named the NSIC Player of the Week for her efforts.
DRAGON MEN UPDATE
The Dragons rebounded with a bit win over Gustavus Adolphus. 68-57, this past Sunday. This came after the team suffered their first loss of the season on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. It was the second consecutive game that each of the five starters scored in double figures, with
Charlie Chapman leading the way with 15 points.

The Dragon women are 49-37 all-time against the Beavers, while the Bulldogs hold the edge over the Dragons, 22-47.
The men's team has a narrow lead of 86-82 in the all-time series against the Beavers. The Dragons are on the low end of the series against Duluth, with a 33-75 record.
BEMIDJI STATE
The Beaver men went 3-1 in non-conference play to begin the 2010-11 season. BSU gained wins against Finlandia (84-63) and Jamestown College (75-60) on the road, while downing Wisconsin-Stout (89-87) at home to earn its first home opener victory since 2003-04. The one loss came to Michigan Tech University (101-88) in the season opener. Newcomer James Ellisor has made an immediate impact at Bemidji State, averaging 20.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, sitting third and fifth, respectively, in the NSIC.
The Beaver women with a 2-1 record in non-conference action, picking up wins over Mayville State and Grand View. Ellie Wessling is leading the Beavers as she is averaging a team-high 14.0 points and 10 rebounds per game. Melissa Borstner and Samatha Baldwin also lead the team as the averaged 13.7 and 10.3 points per game.
MINNESOTA DULUTH
The Bulldog men are sitting on a 2-3 overall record as they picked up wins over Northland and Wisconsin-Superior thus far into the season. Four of the Bulldogs are averaging in double figures, with Jake Hottenstine leading the team with 13.3 points per game.
The Bulldog women are 2-2 on the year, picking up wins at home and losing both road games. Lindsay Miller is leading the team with 17.3 points per game and 6.3 boards. She is 11-fo-20 from behind the arc this season.
