FARGO, N.D. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons tennis team opened up the 2010 season short of a win, as the Upper Iowa Peacocks topped the home team 7-2. The match was played at Courts Plus.
The Dragons took two matches, the first at No. 3 doubles and the other at No. 6 singles. The Duo of
Ashley Taborsky and
Susan Gilkerson took a tight match from UIU's No. 3 doubles team, after trailing nearly the entire match came back from a 7-6 deficit to win 9-7.
Gilkerson was perfect on the day as she topped UIU's Jennah Smith at No. 6 singles by a score of 6-3, 6-2.
The Dragons will continue action on Saturday, Feb. 13 against Minnesota-Duluth at 6 p.m.
