| By:
MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons softball team wrapped up the weekend with a doubleheader against Winona State. The Warrior offense was in full force as Winona State swept the Dragons by a final of 8-0 and 9-4.

The Dragons could not overcome a strong start from Courtney Strang of Winona State who went six full innings, allowing only two hits in the contest. The Dragons did manage four walks through the first game but did not capitalize on the chances, losing the first game 8-0.

The Dragon's bats came to life in the second game as Jessica Hollis got the Dragons second inning started with a single. Amanda Moore got her second homerun of the weekend and brought the Dragons to with in three of the Warriors who led 5-2 after the second inning.

In the fifth inning the Dragons again cut into the Warriors lead when Katie Howland got her fifth hit of the weekend and was followed by a Desi DeMarco walk. Betsy Dickson got her team-leading third triple on the season, which scored both runners and again brought the Dragons to with in three.

The Warriors got both runs back in the final two innings and held on to a 9-4 win. The Dragons fall to 5-27 on the season (3-13 NSIC). The Warriors advance to 24-8 on the season.
