DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons softball squad took to the road to face the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in back-to-back doubleheaders in consecutive days. Tuesday's matchup saw a nonconference matchup, with the Bulldogs emerging with wins in both contests, 4-2 and 7-0.
Betsy Dickson and
Jessica Hollis both scored the Dragons two runs in the first game on a double by
Amanda Moore who has emerged as one of the hottest hitters over the past few games for the Dragons. Moore went 2-for-3 in the first game for the Dragons.
Mara Litzer pitched six innings giving up three earned runs while striking out two batters.
The Dragons managed three hits against Stemper from Minnesota-Duluth who went the distance for the Bulldogs.
Desi DeMarco led the Dragons with a base hit and a stolen base.
The Dragons fall to 5-29 on the season and will stay in Duluth to face the Bulldogs in conference play who are 23-10 on the season with a 10-6 conference record. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
