BEMIDJI, Minn. – The final road test for the Dragons in 2010 saw the Dragons come away with a sweep of the Bemidji State Beavers. D'Onofrio did not allow a run over nine and a third innings pitched between both games as the bats did their job to give the Dragons a 6-0 win followed by a 3-1 victory.

The Dragons got off to a 2-0 lead after Jessica Hollis singled past the third baseman to score Amanda Moore. No runs were scored until the sixth inning when Simone Parcells worked her way aboard getting hit by a pitch. Casey Preston followed with a single and both runners advanced on a wild pitch into scoring position.

Sam Adolph scored Parcells on a sacrifice to right field. The Dragons would put together three more hits in the inning, capping it off with a Katie Howland single that scored Hollis to make it 6-0.

The Dragons held on to win the game by the same score and looked to keep the momentum as the second game started. Again it was Hollis getting the Dragons going when she reached base and advanced to second on a Beaver error.

Betsy Dickson followed up with a two out double and scored Hollis to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead. The Beavers came back in the fourth inning, getting a double of their own to tie the game.

The Dragons came up clutch in the seventh, getting a two out single from Desi DeMarco. Dickson came up next and was hit by a pitch to put two aboard. A.J. Hoefer came up big with a double to center field that scored both runners. The Dragons two runs were all they needed as they held on for a 3-1 win.

The win brings the Dragons record to 7-35 on the season (5-19 NSIC). The Dragons return to Moorhead for the final home stand against the Mary Marauders and the Northern State Wolves.

The Dragons play the Marauders on Saturday with the first game scheduled to start at 1 p.m. The Dragons host the Wolves on Sunday beginning at noon.
