MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons soccer team did not snap their win less streak on Sunday despite chances late in each half as the St. Cloud State Huskies took the second meeting between the teams, 2-0.
The Dragons overall record now moves to 0-8, 0-4 in the league, while the Huskies move to 4-3, with a 3-1 conference tally.
The Huskies scored early as a pass from Mary Morhardt came in from 65-feet away from the goal to Alexandra Pafko who chipped in the 10-foot shot.
Morhardt came in hard with just seconds remaining in the first half as she broke away from the defenders and put SCSU's second goal in past Dragon goalkeeper
Alison Wanner with just one second left on the board.
The Dragons put up five shots on goal in the first half, with two other shots reflecting off the goal posts, both on breakaways by MSUM forwards.
The second half saw a strong defensive movement from the Dragons as the Huskies put up 14 more shots but did not score a goal. SCSU had 33 shots on the day to MSUM's 13.
The Dragons will hit the road for five consecutive road tests, with the first coming against Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, Minn., on Oct. 2. The game is set to begin at 11 a.m.
