Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University of Moorhead women's soccer fell 3-1 to the University of Mary (N.D.) Saturday to record the Dragons first home loss.
The Marauders (6-4-0, 2-2 NSIC) controlled the ball early and allowed Andrea Muller to give the team a lead in the 19th minute. The Dragons (5-3-1, 1-3-1 NSIC) answered two minutes before halftime with a header by
Shiree Lindholm set up by a lob pass from
Erin Nyberg. The goal is Lindholm's first on the season.
The Dragons played a defensive second half as the Marauders controlled the ball for a majority of the half. The Dragons allowed two goals, including the eventual game winner, to the Marauder's Alex Bachman-Williams within a two minute span at the 49th mark.
Carole Braschayko would finish the match with five saves and three goals allowed. Braschayko's record on the season now stands at 2-2-1 as the starting goalkeeper.
Senior starter
Abby Kettler led the scoring attack, behind Lindholm, with two shots on goal. Four others followed that up with one shot on goal each.
The Dragons continue home NSIC play tomorrow against Northern State (S.D.) at 1 p.m.
