Dragons Soccer Drops Game One of Final Homestand

Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State Moorhead women's soccer team dropped game one of the final homestand 3-0 on Saturday against Minnesota State Mankato.

The first half of play was even between the Dragons and Mavericks with a halftime score of 0-0.  42 seconds into the second half, Tori Meinhardt took a pass from Brittany Henry to score the first of three goals for the Mavericks.  Three minutes later, Henry scored the second with an assist from Courtney Vallarelli.  The scoring would end on Henry's unassisted goal in the 52nd minute.

Dragon sophomore Victoria Hoffman started at goalkeeper and saved seven shots while allowing three goals.  Hoffman's season record as a starter now stands at 5-2 following the match.  The Dragons managed to get off four shots on goal, all taken by different athletes. 

The Dragons will take on Southwest Minnesota State tomorrow on Senior Day as seniors Shiree Lindholm, Alejandra Vicuna, Cody Krieg, Jordyn Wallenborn, Abby Kettler and Katherine Adams will be honored by the coaching staff.  Admission to the 1 p.m. kick-off is free.
