Dragons Soccer Earns Win on Senior Day Against Southwest Minnesota State

Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State Moorhead women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday to honor the seniors playing in their final regular season home game.  The win put the Dragons in sixth place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

The Dragons dominated the offense throughout the game getting 11 shots on goal off compared to the Mustangs' one.  Each of the two goals would come in seperate halves as former NSIC player of the week Amanda Wurdeman netted the ball in the 30th minute to earn her sixth goal of the season.  Senior Jordyn Wallenborn aided to the goal with her second assist of the season.  Erin Nyberg would finish the scoring in the 49th minute earning her second goal of the season.  Another senior, Abby Kettler, recorded the assist to put her season total at two.

Carole Braschayko started in the goal and saved one shot as she improved her starting record to 3-2-1.  The shutout was Braschayko's second on the season as she has saved 25 shots to this point. 

The match was a physical one as there were a total of 21 fouls between the two teams, nine coming from the Dragons.  A yellow card was handed out to the Mustangs' Brittany Oehlerking in the 85th minute.

The Dragons will be traveling next weekend as they look to take on Augustana (S.D.) and Wayne State to improve on their NSIC record.
