Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team bounces back from a three game losing streak with a big win at home against NSIC opponent Northern State (S.D.) Sunday.
The Dragons wasted no time as they took two minutes to score the first goal of the match.
Jordyn Wallenborn took a pass from
Ashley Swanson which was debated as an offside call. Wallenborn got past the defense and put the ball in the net for her fifth goal on the season.
Northern State returned fire and tied the game one minute before halftime. Anna Woerle put the Wolves' lone goal past Dragons goalkeeper
Victoria Hoffman. Hoffman recorded four saves and allowed the one goal to improve her record to 4-1 as the starter.
Former NSIC player of the week
Amanda Wurdeman put the Dragons on top in the 56th minute following an assist from
Alejandra Vicuna.
Ashley Swanson followed with an unassisted goal that would sneak past the Wolves goalkeeper Shaina Stein. Two minutes later, Wurdeman encored with another goal following a change at goalkeeper for the Wolves. Wurdeman took a pass from team captain
Katherine Adams to score a team-high, tied with Wallenborn, fifth goal on the season.
Shiree Lindholm led the shooting attack as she led the team with three shots on goal. Wallenborn and Wurdeman followed with two shots each while Adams and Swanson took one each.
The Dragons will be at home Friday to face off against NSIC opponent University of Minnesota, Crookston at 4 p.m.
