MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team gears up to take on fellow Northern Sun opponent University of Minnesota, Crookston Friday with kick-off at 4 p.m.
The Dragons split this past weekend's games winning 4-1 Sunday against Northern State and falling 3-1 Saturday to the University of Mary (N.D.). The Dragon's record now stands at 6-3-1 and 2-3-1 in the NSIC. The victory on Sunday reversed a three-game losing streak.
Amanda Wurdeman led the scoring attack on the weekend with two goals. The second tied her and
Jordyn Wallenborn, who scored a goal on Sunday, for the team lead with five goals each.
Ashley Swanson also added to the weekend scoring with one goal and one assist. The assist puts her in the lead for the team along with
Katherine Adams and
Erin Nyberg who all have two assists.
The Dragons lost 2-1 while visiting the Golden Eagles a season ago. Wallenborn was responsible for the assist in the lone goal of the match. MSU Moorhead owns the 11-4 all-time record against Minnesota Crookston.
