Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team gave head coach
Rollie Bulock his 100th career victory by defeating the University of Minnesota Crookston 2-0 at home on Friday.
Bulock's seventh victory on the season earned him triple digits in the win column for his collegiate coaching career. Since creating the intercollegiate soccer program at MSU Moorhead in 1995, he has earned 86 wins with the Dragons. The other 14 victories came from 2002-03 while head coach of Wayne State (N.E.).
The Dragons took the field with less than favorable conditions as winds gusted up to 47 miles per hour. The winds aided
Katherine Adams' unassisted goal as it floated the ball over the hands of Crookston's Amanda Stapleton in the 27th minute. The goal puts her season total at two. Adams led the shooting attack with two shots on goal. Five others took one shot on goal.
Three yellow cards were handed out between the first and second goals.
Abby Kettler and
Larissa Crain drew the cards for the Dragons, and Carly Mirwaldt recorded one for the Golden Eagles.
Erin Nyberg's goal in the 68th minute rolled past Stapleton and into the net following a pass from
Amanda Wurdeman. The goal was Nyberg's first on the season and Wurdeman collected her second season assist.
The Dragons improved on their all-time record against the Golden Eagles as it now stands at 12-4. The Dragons finish their home schedule for the season next weekend as they will face Minnesota State Mankato and Southwest Minnesota State.
A big congratulations and thanks to
Rollie Bulock for all of his contributions to MSU Moorhead over the years.
