MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon tennis team lost a close battle to the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks on Saturday, 5-4.
Kayla Huether improved her record to 4-3 at No.1 singles as she battled back from a 3-6 loss in the first set to take the second set, 6-0 and went on to take the tie breaker set 10-0.
Alyse Grelson won the No.3 singles winning the first set 6-3. Brandi Dohmen came back and topped Grelson in the second set, 4-6. Grelson went on to pick up the third set 10-9.
Jessica Winey evened the score at 3-3 after the No.6 singles match, taking the match 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
The Mavericks picked up two of the three doubles matches to take the event, 5-4.
The Dragons will take on the Bemidji State Beavers on March 4, in Bemidji at 5 p.m.
