ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead tennis team opened their 2011 season at St. Cloud State University on Friday, but the Huskies proved to be too much for the Dragons.
The Dragons were swept in all matches, losing 9-0.
Kayla Huether forced a deep second set at the No. 1 singles, but fell 6-1, 7-1.
At the No. 5 singles, Susan Gilkerson had a strong first set, but the Huskies' Tanya Halloran would take the match 7-6 (1-0), 6-0.
In No. 1 doubles, Alyse Grelson and Huether fell to the St. Cloud combo of Cassandra Brown and Kateie Kotschevar 8-4.
MSU Moorhead moves to 0-1 after the match.
The Dragons' next match will be against the University of Mary on Saturday.
