SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Northern State Wolves (S.D.) had one big inning at the end fo the game to take a 3-2 win over the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon softball team on Thursday, as inclimate weather came into the area and canceled the second game of the doubleheader.

MSU Moorhead moves to 11-15 overall and 3-10 in the league. The Wolves are now 10-21 overall and 3-8 in the NSIC.
The Dragons took a one run lead in the first inning as they capitalized on an error in the first at-bat of the day by
Katie Howland, reaching second base. She advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt laid down by
Mara Litzer and was knocked home on a single by Amanda Hoefer.
The score would remain 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Kelsey Robling homored to right center field collecting two RBI to give her team the 2-1 lead. The Wolves tacked on an insurance run with two outs as Kelley Suggs scored on a wild pitch.
Litzer cut the lead in the top of the seventh inning as she picked up her second home run of the season. She hit the ball over the left field fence. It was not enough to give the Dragons the momentum as the game came to a close two batters later.
Steeli Norton suffered the loss, moving her record to 3-5 overall. She threw one inning, giving up one hit and three runs.
Alexa D'Onofrio pitched the first five innings, allowing four hits and striking out one.
The Dragons will face Wayne State (Neb.) in Wayne, Neb. on Friday, April 22 at 2 and 4 p.m.
