DULUTH, Minn. - The Minnestoa Duluth Bulldogs two took games from the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon softball team on Wednesday in Duluth, in what was suppose to be the Dragon's home opener, taking game one, 13-4 and game two, 9-2.

In the first game of the twin bill, the Bulldogs put up eight runs in the top of the fourth inning to seal the win.

MSUM scored four runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning to cut the lead in half. The inning was started by Jessica Hollis drawing a walk and advancing around the bases on a Katie Howland single and a Miranda Bronson double. Howland also scored on Bronson's hit.

In the next at bat, Molly Keeler hit her eighth home run of the season, scoring two, to cut the lead. Keeler went two-for-four in the game with two RBI.

The Bulldogs earned three of those four runs back in the top half of hte sixth inning as they sealed their win, finishing the game on top, 13-4.

Steeli Norton suffered the loss in three and a third innings pitched. She gave up eight runs on 11 hits, with one strike out. Alexa D'Onofrio pitched two and two-thirds innings for the Red and White, giving up three runs on three hits. Brandi Howell closed the game, throwing one inning, while giving up two runs.

In game two, the Dragons were unable to calm the Bulldog's bats as they picked up 13 more hits and nine runs. D'Onofrio and Steeli Norton picked up the two RBI for the Dragons as they accounted for two of the Dragon's five hits.

Mara Litzer suffered the loss as she gave up six hits and six runs while striking out two in three innings pitched. D'Onofrio also charted three innings, holding the Bulldogs to three runs on six hits, while fanning one. Howell finished the game, as she had one inning and struck out one while allowing one hit.

The Dragons will return to the diamond this upcoming weekend as they face both Minnesota State Mankato and Southwest Minnesota State in double headers. Official game times will be released on Thursday.
