ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Sophomore
Amanda Moore hit two home runs in consecutive plate appearances on Sunday to give the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons a lift over the St. Cloud State Huskies in the first game of the doubleheader. The Dragons won game one, 6-2 and the Huskies took the second game, 17-0.
Steeli Norton threw a complete game as she held the Huskies to two runs (one earned) off of seven hits, while she fanned three batters.
Moore gave the Dragons the lead in the fourth inning, as the Dragons were down 1-0 prior to her at-bat. She hit her first home run of the afternoon to knock in two runs.
Katie Howland scored on the drive.
Two more runs were tallied in the top of the fifth inning by the Dragons before Moore reached the batters box again. She hit her second blast of the day, knocking in Howland again, who reached on her second consecutive single.
Four Dragons had multi-hit games, as Moore led the team with three hits, four RBI and two runs.

Miranda Bronson and Howland each had two hits.
The Huskies took advantage of playing on their home field in the second game, as their pitcher, Bobbi Boomgarden had a great outing as she gave up just two hits and struck out two.
The Dragons will host their final doubleheader of the season on Monday at 2 and 4 p.m. on Alex Nemzek Field.
