MOORHEAD, Minn. - - The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon volleyball team drops game two of Homecoming weekend to Concordia, St. Paul 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19).
Taking on the defending national champions was sure to be the toughest game of the year. However, the Dragons fought hard and made the Golden Bears earn every point. Outside hitter and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standout Megan Carlson paced the Golden Bears with 19 kills and 14 digs.
The Dragons were lead by the Papa Johns player of the game
Heidi Lensing. The outside hitter put down nine kills and had six digs.
Other notables were junior setter
Anna Olson with 32 assists and nine digs, freshman middle blocker
Maggie Gruber put down nine kills, and junior defensive specialist
Katy Ness led all players with 16 digs.
Today's loss moves the Dragons to 5-7 on the season and 3-2 in the NSIC.
The Dragons are on the road next weekend against nationally ranked Southwest Minnesota State University (7) on Sept. 30 and Minnesota State Mankato (14) on Oct. 1.
