MSUM Women's Soccer Falls at SMSU, 3-0

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Three-second half goals proved to be the difference as the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team fell to Southwest Minnesota State, 3-0 in NSIC action Sunday in Marshall, Minn. The Dragons fell to 4-9-1 overall and 3-7-1 in the NSIC, while SMSU improved to 7-5-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the league.

SMSU scored three goals in a span of 2:02 in the second half to earn the win.

Junior goalkeeper Carole Braschayko had four saves for MSUM. Senior Ashley Swanson led with two shots, both on goal, while Holly Gillund also had two shots, including one on goal.

MSUM had a 5-1 edge in shots in the first half but the Dragons were outshot 6-2 in the second half as both teams finished with seven shots.

The Dragons will play three of their final four games at home, starting Oct. 20 against St. Cloud State.
