| By:

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team held tough to a 0-0 halftime tie, but three second-half goals proved to be the difference as the University of Mary beat the Dragons, 3-0 Sunday in Moorhead, Minn.

The Dragons ended the 2012 season at 4-12-2 overall and 3-10-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, while Mary, which qualified for the conference tournament as the No. 5 seed, improved to 10-7 overall and 10-5 in the league.

The two teams battled to a 0-0 halftime tie, although the Dragons had a chance late in the first half. Sophomore Erin Nyberg's shot hit the bar and just bounced away, leaving the score at 0-0.
Mary had a 6-3 edge in shots in the first half.

In the second half, Mary's Andrea Jones scored just 1:43 into the frame to make it 1-0. The Marauders added two more goals to make it 3-0.

Mary finished with a 20-6 edge in shots in the game. Junior goalkeeper Victoria Hoffman had four saves in set for the Dragons.

Nyberg led the Dragons with four shots, including three on goal, while Isabel Neyman added two shots.
