Dragon Women's Soccer Loses Tough 2-1 Contest at Bemidji State

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Despite a 25-11 edge in shots, the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team fell to Bemidji State on Saturday, losing 2-1 in NSIC action in Bemidji, Minn. MSUM fell to 2-8-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the NSIC, while Bemidji State improved to 8-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the league.

Isabel Neyman scored a goal for the Dragonswith an assist from Ashley Gallegos.
Junior goalkeeper Carole Braschayko had six saves in net.

Neyman got the Dragons on the board at the 36:58 mark when she scored off of a corner kick by Gallegos, giving MSUM a 1-0 lead. Less than seven minutes later, Bemidji State tied the game off of a corner kick to make it 1-1, which was the halftime score.

Mary O'Brien's goal at the 68:01 mark proved to be the gamewinner for the Beavers.

Sophomore Erin Nyberg hed nine shots in the game for MSUM, while senior Ashley Swanson had four. Neyman, Nyberg and Swanson each had two shots on goal for the Dragons.

MSUM wraps up the weekend at Minnesota-Crookston at Sunday for a 1 p.m. game.
