MINNETONKA, Minn. - Third-seeded Upper Iowa defeated sixth-seeded MSU Moorhead 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the NSIC Women's Tennis Tournament. The Peacocks will take on secnd seeded Winona State Saturday night.
The Peacocks started fast winning all three doubles matches. Amanda Nunez and Karli Loewecke picked up an 8-3 win at No. 1 against
Kayla Huether and
Alyse Grelson, while Courtney Romer and Angelica Alba earned an 8-1 win at No. 2 against
Kathryn Neubauer and
Jenna Galstad and Patricia VanderHoeven and Nicole Pothen claimed the decisive 8-0 win at No. 3 against
Kaitlin McNary and
Jaime LaCoursiere.
Loewecke defeated Neubauer 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 singles before Nunez defeated Huether at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-0 to end the match. Jennah Smith also defeated McNary 6-4, 6-0 at No. 6 singles just after the No. 1 singles match concluded.
