Dragon Soccer Falls at No. 8 Minnesota State

MANKATO, Minn. - - The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team fell to No. 8-ranked Minnesota State, Mankato 6-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday in Mankato, Minn.

The Mavericks, the NSIC preseason favorite by the league's coaches, improved to 6-1-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference, while MSUM fell to 2-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the league.

Senior Holly Gillund and sophomore Erin Nyberg had shots on goal for MSUM, while freshman Kelsey Schatz added a shot. Junior goalkeeper Carole Braschayko had eight saves in net for the Dragons.

Six different MSU Mankato players scored goals in the game, with Tori Meinhardt recording three assists.

MSUM returns home for a pair of NSIC games next weekend, starting Saturday at noon against Upper Iowa.
