MSUM Women's Soccer Falls to Mustangs, 3-1

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team fell short against Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Mustangs at the MSUM Soccer Field in Moorhead, Minn.

The Dragons got a goal from freshman Lana Laudermilch, whose shot off of a SMSU defender brought MSUM within 2-1 in the second half. Junior Erin Nyberg added the assist. It was the first collegiate goal of Laudermilch's

But SMSU's Justine Hauck scored later in the half to put the Mustangs back up by two goals, which was the final margin.

Nyberg, Laudermilch, junior Stephanie Lindo and freshman Gabrielle Bjorge had shots on goal for MSUM.

Senior goalkeeper Victoria Hoffman had nine saves for the Dragons.

MSUM wraps up the four-game homestand against Sioux Falls on Sunday. Game time is 1 p.m. at the MSUM Soccer Field.
